It would be totally incorrect to exclude the famous Michael Jordan from the legendary Jordan Brand trainer collection. The Air Jordan 7 was born in 1992 from this successful collaboration between the renowned designer Thinker Hatfield and the undisputed basketball star Michael Jordan. And once again the two renowned partners succeeded in exciting the public.
But the fans of the Jumpman brand are somewhat disappointed. These sneaker fans waited until the last moment to see the launch of the Air Jordan 7 Retro Olympic 2021. But the Tokyo Olympics will not coincide with the return of the model that is making its debut in Barcelona. So the question on every fan's mind is: will we have to wait for the Olympics in the capital? And, of course, not! The iconic AJ7 sneaker may well be available much earlier. It is exactly in 2022 that the AJ7 will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in the history of the Dream Team. Needless to say, Jordan Brand will not miss out on this great opportunity!
Currently, the Air Jordan 7 Olympic is available in 2 editions (2004 and 2012). And, there is even a 3rd edition, if we count the "For The Love Of The Game" which was created for the World Basketball Festival (2010). However, this iteration is not considered by purists to be 100% true to the 1992 model. Why is that? Its heart-shaped logo!
The 1992 Air Jordan 7
The Air Jordan 7 was designed in 1992 by the famous designer Tinker Hatfield and is the seventh model of the player Michael Jordan. This model was inspired by the Nike Huarache which gives it a sleeker style and a lightness. The Jordan VII is best known for its Olympic colorway, which was released for the Barcelona Olympics and worn by Michael Jordan for the occasion. Since then, Jordan has released a number of different colourways of the shoe and has also released a number of neat collaborations such as the Air Jordan 7 x Patta and the Air Jordan 7 x Doernbecher.
It should be noted that that year, all Air Jordan 7 OGs (Bordeaux, Hare, Cardinal, Charcoal Raptors) were honoured with the famous number 23 on their heels. However, one iteration will deviate from the established codes, namely the Air Jordan 7 Olympic, which features the number 9. The number 9 pays homage to the jersey number worn by the famous basketball player Michael Jordan for the US basketball team.

The popular phrase "Dream Team" can be applied to the US team as well as the players' trainers. The Air Jordan 7 has surrounded itself with the best.
The Nike Air Jordan 7 never ceases to demonstrate its mysteries, such as this strange sample made of a suede material from the AJ7 that stands out Hare in 2016. But, will we remember this version? It's worth noting that the Tinker Alternate is also going through this process before appearing in the windows. To date, no information has been released about this model. The only illustration we can refer to is in a Japanese magazine.
Fat Joe licks his Air Jordan 7
It's true that it may seem a little unusual for most of us, but some sneakerheads won't hesitate to lick the sole of a new trainer to show their unconditional love. So, we can understand that this act puts most people off, but it doesn't scare the great collector, Fat Joe. A little anecdote: the latter's saliva would still impregnate the sole of his Jordan VII deadstock from 1992.
To celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Jumpman brand launched the Air Jordan 7 Retro OC Miro Olympic. The Jordan sneaker takes its influence from the Dona i Ocell, a sculpture of a woman and a bird by the Barcelona artist. But what does this have to do with the pair that basketball star Michael Jordan wore 16 years ago? Well, it's simply the number 9 that appears on the back of the heel!
It is obvious that several players own an Air Jordan 7 Retro PE Olympic. We count at least 4 of them: Carmelo Anthony who will participate in the Athens Olympics wearing a new version. But Jason Kid, Ray Allen and Michael Finley also have one. The whole of this prestigious collection will be sold on ebay in 2004 for the "modest" sum of 45000 dollars.

If you're wondering how much an Air Jordan 7 PE Olympic cost when Michael Jordan wore it to a game, the price was $112,500.
The legendary Air Jordan 7 PE Olympic shoes worn by Michael Jordan are being auctioned off at Christie's after being given by the basketball player himself to a receptionist at a hotel where the Dream Team was staying. No less than thirty years later, this priceless gift has enabled the lucky recipient to collect a fortune!
There is no doubt that the Tokyo Olympics are a major factor in the Nike Air Jordan 7's unwavering popularity. The online platform Stockx claims that its sales are constantly increasing by between 30% and 60%. This singularity of sales growth will also be seen following the release of the film/documentary "The Last Dance".
However, it is good to know that this trend is also reflected in the design of the basketball player Scottie Pippen during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the Nike Kobe 7 USA Olympic version.
