Air Jordan 15

The Air Jordan 15 is one of Jordan Brand's most atypical models, even sneakers. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in the 2000s, the Jordan XV was designated by its creator himself as one of the least successful models. Indeed, the pair of Air Jordan XV has not been very successful. This does not prevent the brand at the Jumpman from releasing the Jordan 15 in different colors. Do you know it? The atypical design of the pair comes from the inspiration of the North American X-15 aircraft and also a tribute to Michael Jordan with the tongue symbolizing his action of sticking his tongue out after a shoot or a dunk.

Developed during the 2000s, the AJ XV was recognized by its designer, Tinker Hatfield, as one of the least successful versions of the collection. The story goes that the renowned designer was largely inspired by the North American X-15 aircraft and its rocket-like appearance that was launched and approved by NASA in 1959.

The Air Jordan XV could be worn by actors in a futuristic film, as its design is so original and totally insane. The atypical trainer, developed in 1999/2000, had such an unusual and avant-garde profile that it was perfect to represent the new millennium, not going unnoticed among the various other sneakers of that time.

Conceived and drafted by renowned designer Tinker Hatfield, the sneaker's profile was totally inspired by an aeroplane, just like the Air Jordan V. But for this innovative version, the renowned designer took as a model the North American X-15 rocket plane, one of the fastest machines in the world! The design is based on the North American X-15 rocket plane, one of the world's fastest aircrafts, and features a variety of elements such as slanted shapes and grey and black colours on the underside of the shoe.

But the artist's abundant imagination will continue to run wild, as the design of the collar that makes up the tongue and tops the shaft curiously takes the shape of MJ's tongue when he was shooting the Dunk or Lay-up!

One of the various peculiarities regarding the creation of this sneaker is the fact that Nike was also strongly inspired by the prestigious brand: Prada! This fact was quickly disputed and denied by the Smooth brand. 

As far as the materials used to design this unusual sneaker are concerned, Tinker Hatfield has chosen an upper that he will divide in two, made of leather and Mesh, and moreover, a totally innovative material: Kevlar! The heel is made of Pebax and underlines the resistant and solid aspect of the Air Jordan XV! This surreal pair offers, like several pairs that preceded it, revealing details of the career and life of the G.O.A.T.

On the back of the heel are various numbers such as 23, 6 and 15. The 23, which represents the mythical number of the ex Chicago Bulls' back, as for the number 6, it represents the titles won and finally, the number 15 which indicates that it is the fifteenth pair. The whole Jordan 15 sits comfortably on a herringbone sole, with a Zoom Air pocket in the front and back, the shoe also displays a small reminder of the date of birth of its royalty, (17 / 02 (1963) with the affixing of 17 and 2.

An anecdote tells us that His Airness, who won his last title against the Utah Jazz with a brilliant shot, never got to wear the shoe as an NBA player because he was now retired and could no longer repeat the feat. But, other players will take over, such as the second best 3-point shooter in the history of the famous NBA and former player of the Indiana Pacers, the inevitable Reggie Miller! Among other things, the latter, who is very lucky, will then have various PE Colorways.

The famous Californian singer and the Jumpman brand have spoiled us again by offering us a Billie Eilish x Air Jordan 15 SP in a beige/nude colourway for the fall. The new collaboration between Billie Eilish and Nike has given birth to a second iconic pair of shoes that have been totally revisited by the singer.

So, to follow the mythical Air Jordan 1 KO, the artist Billie Eilish and the Jumpman brand will present us with an Air Jordan 15 SP. If we refer to the very first visual model released, this atypical sneaker, exclusively reserved for women, will be equipped with a completely beige/nude upper. As for its elaboration, the futuristic trainer in the shape of a slipper is dressed with a horizontal quilted upper in 100% vegan leather, enhanced with overlapping braided inserts and also with a smooth leather mudguard.

The inevitable and famous Jumpman is nicely affixed at the back, under the grooved reinforcement, in order to give pride of place to the singer's logo, the Blohsh, which thus appears on the tongue. The ankle strap and the mudgard respect the usual codes of the classic model. The shoe is very comfortable and sits on a toned-in rubber sole, in harmony with the whole. Once again, the young singer has opted for a plain beige/nude colour that contrasts with the Air Jordan 1 Retro AJKO Billie Eilish Ghost Green (Volt).  With the AJKO, young artist Billie Eilish has come up with two innovative monochrome versions from her vivid imagination, in addition to an apparel collection. There's no doubt that this original pack is a perfect representation of Billie Eilish's distinctive style, and will be offered with a collection of clothing and accessories.
